  10.           ==========  ASCII-PRINT PRO MAIN MENU  ==========
  11.  GO     - Use this option to begin the print job.
  12.  FILE   - Choose the file you wish to print.
  13.  LAYOUT - Displays the different LAYOUT options visually. You are asked
  14.           to select the LAYOUT style you wish to use.
  15.  FONT   - Choose from 6 font styles for your printout.
  16.  TABS   - Allows you to select the TAB value ASCII-PRINT will use
  17.           when it encounters an embedded TAB character in your text file.
  18.           ASCII-PRINT allows you to turn off TABS using this option.
  19.  BREAKS - You can Enable or Disable imbedded PAGE BREAK characters.
  20.           You can also select forced page breaks every --- lines.
  21.  MARGIN - Select One Inch margins for 3-Hole punch, or no margins.
  22.  SIDES  - One-Side or Both-Sides of page printing.
  23.  HEADER - Edit, disable, enable the way your HEADER LINE will print.
  24.           Edit your BOOKLET COVER title and 6-lines of information.
  25.  BORDER - Choose from 6 border styles for your printout.
  26.  SETUPS - Save & Recall different setups from diskette.
  27.  COPIES - Choose the number of copies of each page from 1-99.
  28.  OTHER  - You may turn page-numbering and page-shadowing on or off.
  29.  EXTRA  - PRINT WEEKLY CALENDARS, GRAPH PAPER, and MUSIC PAPER.
  30.  PRINTER- Select PRINTER MODEL, PORT and SIZE OF PAPER.
  31.  COLORS - You can select your favorite screen colors here.

  33.         ========  WEEK-AT-A-GLANCE CALENDAR  ========
  34.  
  35.         Prints a 7-day calendar for the week you pick from this list.
  36.  
  37.         Only available in LETTER size.

  40.     ======== PAGE BREAKS SELECTION ========
  41.     USE page breaks: [default]
  42.         Some ASCII TEXT files have IMBEDDED PAGE BREAK CHARACTERS
  43.         within the text. You can identify them, because they look
  44.         like this -->    character.
  45.         They are created with a CNTRL+L keystroke. Ascii code 12.
  46.         This command tells the printer to stop printing this page
  47.         and go on to the next page.
  48.  
  49.     IGNORE page breaks:
  50.         If you want this program not to use these commands, and to
  51.     print maximum text lines to the paper.
  52.  
  53.     CUSTOM page breaks:
  54.         You may enter a number from 55-125. This number will set
  55.         the page size. Embedded page breaks will be ignored.

  57.         ======== TAB SELECTION MENU ========
  58.     Select TAB values to match the text file you are printing.
  59.     TABs cause spaces to be inserted into the printed document
  60.     until the column number divided by the TAB amount has a
  61.     remainder of ZERO. ( this is called a MODULUS ).
  62.     Example: if you are at column 5 and TAB = 8 when a TAB char
  63.     is found, SPACES will be inserted in columns 5,6,7,8 before
  64.     the next character is printed.
  65.  
  66.     Experiment with this option to achieve the best looking
  67.     printed results. You will get used to TABS.

  70.         ======== OTHER OPTIONS ========
  71.     PAGE NUMBERING - Default is ON.
  72.       When ON the page number is printed to the UPPER-LEFT of
  73.       each square on the paper.
  74.     PAGE SHADOWING - Default is ON.
  75.       When ON the square boxes are SHADOWED with a dark line
  76.       to the right and bottom.

  78.         ======== SELECT STYLE: PORTRAIT OR LANDSCAPE ========
  79.         PORTRAIT: Prints the selected week in 7 rows format.

  81.         LANDSCAPE: Prints the selected week in 7 column format.

  83.         If you can't decide, print a sample of both, and see which
  84.         one you like the best!

  86.         This option only works with the standard LETTER size paper.

  88.         ======== SELECT LEFT MARGIN ========

  90.         You may add a ONE INCH MARGIN to your documents.
  91.         In PORTRAIT MODE, a LEFT margin is created.
  92.         In LANDSCAPE MODE, a TOP margin is created.

  95.         ======== SELECT ONE-SIDE or BOTH-SIDES PRINTING ========
  96.         ONE SIDE PRINT -   Your document will be printed only on the
  97.           front side of the paper. The back side will be blank.

  99.         BOTH SIDED PRINT - The first printing pass will do all of the
  100.           document front side printing, then PAUSES for you to
  101.           turn the paper over and put it back into the printer, and
  102.           continues to print the back sides of the document.
  103.  
  104.         DUPLEXING PRINTERS - The program will automatically print on
  105.           both sides of each page if you select BOTH SIDES PRINT and
  106.           the DUPLEXING PRINTER option ( in the printer setup menu ).

  108.         ======== SELECT PRINTER FEED TYPE & PAPER SIZE ==========
  109.  AUTOMATIC - The printer feeds paper from the automatic feed portion
  110.              of your paper tray. You just have to make sure that there
  111.              is enough paper in the tray, as usual.
  112.              You must have purchased the proper tray for any paper
  113.              size you select in AUTOMATIC FEED.
  114.  MANUAL FEED - Feed paper by hand into the laser printer.
  115.  
  116.  NOTE:       MANUAL FEED WILL PRINT ANY PAPER SIZE WHEN YOU FEED
  117.              THE PAPER IN BY HAND. EXAMPLE: LETTER TRAY can MANUAL
  118.              feed LEGAL PAPER without buying the LEGAL size tray!

  120.      ======== SELECT PRINTER PORT ========
  121.      If you don't know which PORT to use:
  122.  
  123.      First, try PORT 1    ( this is the default, and the most common )
  124.        then, PORT 2.
  125.        then, PORT 3.
  126.      If that doesn't work, go ask a friend who knows a lot about
  127.      computers what you should do next.
  128.      Normally you don't have to worry, just select PORT 1.

  130.      IMPORTANT: IF YOU HAVE A SOFTWARE "SECURITY" DEVICE IN THE
  131.      PRINTER PORT, AND PRINTING ACTS WRONG: THE SECURITY DEVICE HAS
  132.      FAILED. ASK YOUR VENDOR FOR A NEW KEY! THIS IS HAPPENING VERY
  133.      OFTEN LATELY. ASCII-PRINT PRO CANNOT OVERRIDE A DEFECTIVE KEY!

  135.      We currently don't support COM PORTS for printing.

  137.         ======== SELECT LASER PRINTER TYPE ========
  138.       Please tell ASCII-PRINT PRO what kind of Laser Printer you have.
  139.       If yours is not on the list... Select --> HP Laser Jet II

  141.       ASCII-PRINT PRO supports HP LaserJet II or III
  142.       compatible Laser Printers only.
  143.  
  144.       Your printer must be at least ---> HP PCL LEVEL IV compatible.
  145.       In other words, it must be able to accept downloadable fonts,
  146.       and print graphics.

  148.       This program doesn't work on POSTSCRIPT PRINTERS. HP ONLY.
  149.       This program doesn't work on DESK JET printers.

  151.       ========  SELECT PRINTER INFORMATION  ========
  152.   M - Select the model of Laser Printer you are using.
  153.       Normally, use the HP Laser Jet II if you are not sure.
  154.       Select the DUPLEXING PRINTER if you are using a laser
  155.       printer which can print on both sides of a page.
  156.   P - Select the PORT your printer is connected to.
  157.       LPT1 is the normal printer port.
  158.       COM1 COM2 is not supported by this program.
  159.   T - Select MANUAL FEED or AUTOMATIC FEED and PAPER SIZE.
  160.       AUTOMATIC FEED is the most common method.

  163.     The HEADER LINE contains any text that you want to appear
  164.     at the top of each printed page.

  168.     PRINT ON FIRST PAGE ONLY - Prints the HEADER LINE on the first

  170.     PRINT ON ALL PAGES - Prints the HEADER LINE on ALL pages

  173.     BOOKLET COVER PAGE TEXT - Use this option to Edit all of the
  174.                               TEXT which you want to appear on
  175.                               the BOOKLET's COVER PAGE.

  180.    NO BORDERS = Borders will not be drawn around the pages.
  181.    LIGHT = A very thin rectangle will be drawn around the pages.

  183.    TWIN-LINE = Two thin parallel lines are drawn around the pages.
  184.    TIGHT = A thin line is drawn around the pages, with a
  185.            ONE PIXEL space between the Text and the Border.
  186.    TIC-TAC = One vertical line down the center of the page,
  187.              and One horizontal line across the center.
  188.    TIC-TAC with FULL EDGE = Same as TIC-TAC, then a rectangle is
  189.              drawn around the entire sheet.

  192.     DUTCH = Font with serifs. Similar to a hybrid of COURIER

  196.     NOTE: When printing in 1-UP formats, the internal fonts that

  213.             down the middle and staple it. An attractive COVER SHEET
  214.             is printed as the first page of your document.

  216.         FLAT STYLE - Used when you are not planning to fold your
  217.             finished document, suitable for putting in flat binders
  218.             or just stapling one corner.

  222.         1 - NORMAL: Use this on PASS 2 when the next sheet your printer
  223.             will feed was the first sheet which was printed on pass 1.

  225.             printer will feed was the LAST sheet which came out of
  226.             the printer on PASS 1.
  227.         NOTE: If your printer does NOT have a rear tray: you will
  228.               most likely use option 2: (REVERSE-COLLATE PASS 2).
